About Eurits
Eurits, the European Union for Responsible Incineration and Treatment of Special Waste, is a not-for-profit organisation that represents large, medium and small hazardous waste treatment companies across Europe.
Eurits was established in 1994. Today, EURITS represents 22 members operating 40 state-of-the-art plants with a total workforce of more than 4,500, treating almost 3Mt of hazardous waste per year.
Eurits is devoted to promoting and supporting a responsible special waste treatment industry that is broadly recognised to provide safe and sustainable solutions to a changing, ever more demanding and complex industry and world.
Its members bring their expertise and knowledge to the table in order to help industries with special waste needs to keep their license-to-operate and as such to keep Europe’s economy thriving, whilst maintaining its leading position in responsible and circular (hazardous) waste management.
In order to do so, Eurits provides a platform for its members to present their views and share experience on technical, environmental and safety issues.
Eurits is the voice of the sector, representing the special waste treatment industry in the EU Parliament and Commission, in order to create adequate support and policy frameworks in Europe.
